8×10 is plainly just not big enough. It’s arrived and put together. It’s a Richard Ritter 7×17. Flippin awesome and if anything it feels lighter than my 8×10 Deardorff. Sweet.
And yes, thats Inches…

Wow!!! The elephant has arrived (as the wife calls it), and after a few teething troubles with the focus rails and gg springs it is up and in action. Taken a few quick pictures, ok took a while… shutterless for now and boy are those negs big. Very very happy. Mind you I haven’t had to carry it anywhere yet! Now just waiting for a shutter and a new tripod head. It’s a big heavy beast but I like it.

I did it again. Bought another camera that is. 10×8 Deardorff NFS. Hasn’t arrived yet and will need to get a whole of things for it. Lens board, lens, film holders… Looking forward to tray developing those huge negs, and doing some contact printing. Next step pt/pd printing. When will I learn?

I don’t do digital. That’s a small lie as I do have a Fuji F30 for those family snap moments, and listing stuff on ebay.
Due to working all day with computers I don’t want to spend what little free time I have on another computer processing digital images. Therefore my photography is commited to Film and Wet printing. (Plus it feels more of a craft this way).
I use 35mm, medium format and large format (5×4). Jack of all trades and master of none.
I stick with monochrome. That way it’s all down to me. I develop my own film, print my own prints. Unfortunately that means it’s all my own work and I can’t blame anyone else that I’m no good. Nevermind, it keeps me quiet…
Stock films: FP4+ & HP5+ with a little 3200 in the leica…
Stock devs: Rodinal, ID11 & Adox ADX
